Once I get…, I will do/be___. That’s a trap!
I still fall into the idea from time to time and catch myself from it.
I used to live in a world of “once… then __” all the time. It gave me the drive to get there, but stopped me from enjoying my journey.
– Once I move to a bigger house, I will play the violin every day. This one is my newest.
– Once we moved to a place with a shorter commute, I would have a relaxed and joyful life. It didn’t happen.
– When my son was little, he had terrible eczema for many years. I thought once my son’s eczema got better, I would be happy. It was a huge relief, but I found another thing to worry about.
Whenever you get the idea of “once… then___”, it’s your opportunity to think about “how I can start doing/being now”. You don’t have to wait.
If you have a reason not to do it now, you most likely won’t do it after the initial excitement of getting there.
If you have a reason not to be joyful, happy or whatever you wish to be now, you most likely will stay the same after the initial excitement of getting there.
Do you want to enjoy your life?
Do you want to see how beautiful your life is?
If so, don’t wait. Everything starts from inside of us in this moment.
